About me
Bryce Hixson is the founder and owner of Loose in the Lab, a science education company that has been developing curriculum, creating hands-on science kits, and providing hands-on training to educators since 1988. He has written text books for major educational publishers Including Holt, Rinehart & Winston, Prentice Hall, and McMillan. He has won several awards for innovative science kits at the NY Toy Fair in the 1990's. More recently he worked with the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining for 10 years to bring geology programs to over 1000 2nd and 4th grade teachers in Utah's public, private, and charter schools. He prefers paleontology because dead things have really cool stories to tell and chemistry because messes are not only expected but anticipated, which much different than at home. Speaking of home, he has been married for 35 years, is the proud father of 4 kids, and always has a season ski pass in his pocket every winter.
