About me
Amie has been a classroom teacher for 28 years. She has spent most of that time in the junior high setting and with social studies curriculum. She is also an adoptive mom of four beautiful girls and one son-in-law, and the proud grandma of five perfect babies! She began her journey with TBRI as a foster mom and eventual adoptive mom. Watching her children navigate life and school with significant trauma histories had her looking for any way to help them. She discovered TBRI through Raise the Future and has since adopted it in her classroom and her life. She loves helping schools understand the implications of early trauma exposure and absolutely loves working with kids from hard places! Her heart will always be in the classroom. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family and read. She is an avid consumer if information and you will always find her listening to a book or trying to find the latest research on whatever subject interests her at the time.
